Ethernet Addressing - Ethernet Ports Tab

Use the Ethernet Ports tab to configure and enable Consoles, Other and Web Server ports.

The Ethernet Ports are accessed from the Ethernet Addressing Function by clicking on the Ethernet Ports tab:




To Configure and Enable Ethernet Ports

  1. In the Consoles group box, navigate to the applicable port's text and enter the appropriate port number, where different from the default port number.

  2. Click the corresponding Enabled or Disabled radio button. Note: Telnet Enable/Disable is not supported when authentication is enabled.

  1. Navigate to the Other group box and repeat Steps 1 and 2, as applicable.

  1. Navigate to the Web Server group box and repeat Steps 1 and 2, as applicable.

  2. Click the OK button to return to the main Ethernet Addressing dialog box.

    PORTS

    CTP:

    Crestron Terminal Protocol used for Ethernet communication.
    Default port = 41795

    SCTP:

    Secure Crestron Terminal Protocol used for Ethernet communication over an SSL connection to Port 41797 at the IP address of the processor.
    Default port = 41797

    Telnet:

    Used for Ethernet communication between two computers on the same network.
    Default port = 23

    SSH:

    Secure Shell is a secure network protocol used for Ethernet communication over unsecured networks.
    Default port = 22

    To Restrict Access to the Device

    1. Click the Set Console Password... button.
    2. Enter the password in the text field. Valid passwords can be up to 14 characters in length (printable ASCII).
    3. Click the OK button to set the password.

    To Disable the Password

    1. click the Set Console Password button and then
    2. click Disable Password.
    3. Click Yes when prompted to confirm.

     

    CIP:

    Common Industrial Protocol
    Default port = 41794

    SCIP:

    Secure Common Industrial Protocol
    Default port = 41796

     

    HTTP:

    		Hypertext Transfer Protocol used for communication over the Internet.

    STTP:

    		Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure used for secure communication over the Internet.

 

Apply Ethernet Port Settings

  1. Click the Apply button to apply the Ethernet Port settings:



    If the Ethernet Port settings are valid, then the device will reboot.

    If any Ethernet Port settings are invalid, then a Toolbox window will be displayed that lists where the invalid settings occur:


    In this example, the CTP Port setting is invalid on the Ethernet Ports tab:




  2. Select the Revert, Accept Settings or Fix Errors button as applicable:

Revert

Restore the device to the previous settings. All new settings will be lost.

Accept Settings

Accept any settings sent to the device. Please note that the device will not set any invalid values

(default)

Fix Errors

Return to Ethernet Ports Settings and fix any errors based on the listing of invalid settings and there respective locations:
