Add a TCP/IP Address

Note: Before connecting to a control system via TCP/IP for the first time, you must first use a serial (RS-232) connection, an USB connection or press the device's setup button as applicable to the device -- and Set the Control Processor's IP Information, domain name, DNS Servers, and hostname. This allows you to configure the IP settings of the control system for subsequent communication over Ethernet.

To add a TCP/IP address

  1. Open the address book you want to edit and click the Add button.

  2. Type a name for the Ethernet device in the Name field.
