Logging Rules
The Logging Rules are added and configured on the Log Setting tab of the Edit Attribute dialog box. Logging rules determine where information is logged by the system and under what conditions.
- Select the Attributes folder on the Objects tab.
- Select the attribute you wish to edit by selecting its checkbox and then selecting Edit (or by selecting the attribute from the list).
- When the Edit Attribute dialog box opens, select the Log Setting tab.
- Select the appropriate destination for the log file by selecting either the System Log or Crestron Fusion Log check boxes.
- Set the resulting fields according to the parameters described in the following table.
- Select Save & Close to commit your changes.
| Log Settings Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| RoomView Log | Check box. Checking this box will write logged events to the RoomView log file and will display the Logging Rule field. |
| Alert Always | Check box. Checking this box will cause a log entry to be made for every state change of the monitored attribute. |
| Operator | Drop‑down menu. Allows you to select the operator controlling logged events depending upon the type of attribute you're adding the rule to. Refer to Operator Drop-down List for more information. These choices act on the Value settings described below. |
| Value | Radio buttons. Value or Percentage can be selected for analog attributes. These set the parameters acted on by the Operator settings. |
| Log Threshold | Available only for serial and analog attributes, the Log Threshold field contains the value the Operator drop‑down menu works against. For example, if your operator is Equal To and the Value radio button is selected, when the logging event reaches the value in the Log Threshold field, a log event will occur. |
| Alert Once | Check box. Checking this box will cause a log entry to be made when the specified threshold or operator parameter has been reached. |
