.Some
arguments on a symbol must be connected or a value must be given, or else
the symbol will not function properly at run-time. An example is a DELAY
symbol where the time of the delay is not specified. Those
arguments that are required but have not yet been given a connection or
a value will be shown with the Incomplete
Indicator, a red exclamation mark in a yellow border .
A
symbol that has any incomplete indicators will be shown in Device
Explorer or Logic Explorer
with an incomplete indicator on top of its icon 
.
If the incomplete symbol is in a folder, its parent folder will also be
shown with an incomplete icon 
,
recursively, until the top Logic folder is shown with an incomplete icon. This guarantees that an incomplete
symbol will not be hidden from view.
The help text of a symbol indicates what arguments are required. There are a few general rules:
Any fixed non-expandable argument is required unless its cue has square brackets around it.
Symbols shown in Logic Explorer with an expandable list generally must have all elements of the list filled out, so the user must delete unused elements at the end of the list.
Symbols shown in Device Explorer with an expandable list generally will allow list elements NOT to be filled out.
Logic modules generally must have all arguments filled out.
Programs will not be compiled if there are any symbols that are incomplete.
You may use the Complete Argument or Complete Symbol functionality of Crestron Studio® to assign default hidden non-routable signals to a single argument or to all arguments on the symbol, respectively. Arguments will be shown with a “//” icon. Arguments with this icon are NOT connected together.
